After her elder daughter, Esha Deol, tied the knot in June 2012, this year, Hema Malini is preparing for the wedding of her younger daughter, Ahana. The 28-year-old will get married to Delhi-based businessman, Vaibhav Vora, on February 2.
“Wedding preparations are no joke. There’s so much to do,” says Malini.
While the couple will tie the knot at a ceremony in Mumbai next month, a grand reception is being planned in Delhi soon after. “This is my second daughter’s wedding and, who knows when the next wedding will be in our house. We will invite all our well-wishers, politicians, swamijis, people from the dancing fraternity and film artistes, among others,” she adds.
Although Malini’s husband Dharmendra was standing by her side when Esha got married in 2012, his sons Sunny and Bobby Deol were not to be seen at the event back then. Ask her if she is expecting them to make it to Ahana’s wedding, and she says, “They will come. They didn’t attend Esha’s wedding doesn’t mean there was a plan or agenda. They couldn’t come due to some reason. They weren’t in town. So if they are in town, they will definitely come.”
Talking about her daughters pursuing careers post-marriage, Malini says, “If she (Ahana) wants, she will. It depends on her. During my time, I didn’t know I was going to be career-oriented. I started work at a tender age. I didn’t think and plan a career back then, it just happened.”
